If summer in Italy isn’t in the plan this year, take heart: One of Italy’s best attributes—its food—is as accessible as a trip to Mizner Park.
Serena Pastificio, known among foodies for its coastal Northern Italian cuisine, is bringing Italy to the people with a new Ora Sociale (social hour) and a summer prix-fixe menu. Ora Sociale, offered daily from 3 to 6 p.m., features small plates and an array of cocktails (hello, Italian Margarita) best enjoyed at the lounge or patio.
The prix-fixe menu ($55) is available Tuesday through Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m., and includes Serena’s life-changing fettuccine alla Bolognese and a lovely salmon with black beluga lentil and Calabrese chilis in orange-thyme emulsion. From the appetizer portion of the three-course menu, do not miss the Polpettine (meatballs)—some of the best in Palm Beach County.
Bonus: The offerings are early enough that you can stay and enjoy a movie at the IPIC theater, which is just upstairs of the restaurant. Not vacation, but a great summer night out.
