Make it a star-spangled weekend for the entire family with special events and fireworks!
Sunday, July 4, is America’s birthday and the big-time fireworks are back for 2021. Here’s all the details on where and how you can see those skyrockets light up the night, along with plenty of other ways to celebrate the 4th of July in The Palm Beaches.
Fireworks Spectaculars
The 4th on Flagler fireworks extravaganza returns to downtown West Palm Beach on Sunday, July 4, from 7 to 10 p.m. along Flagler Drive, between Banyan Boulevard and Fern Street. Expect roving entertainment, live music, a DJ stage, food, drinks and more. Mayor Keith A. James will deliver remarks from the Palm Stage at 8:45 p.m., followed by a patriotic presentation and the announcement of the 2021 Palm Beach Health Network’s Hometown Heroes. Fireworks will ignite at 9:09 p.m. over the Intracoastal Waterway. Supercar Week will host “Drive in 4th,” an all makes and models mini car show along Flagler Drive. For anyone who wants to start the celebration early, “run to the fun” in the Bill Bone 5K, which begins at Osprey Park at 6:30 p.m. and finishes adjacent to the north end of the 4th on Flagler site. Event organizers encourage physical distancing and will provide several hand washing/sanitizing stations. Guests are welcomed to bring their own chairs and blankets and find a spot on the lawn. The event is free, and parking is available in city garages. Those who prefer to watch the show from the comfort of their home can tune in to a live broadcast.
Boynton Beach will host a celebration complete with live music, food trucks and one of the largest fireworks displays in The Palm Beaches. This free, family-friendly event will take place at Intracoastal Park from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The celebration will include a spectacular water show by Palm Beach Hydroflight. Athletes will surf the skies on water propelled Jet boards, defying gravity with mind-blowing maneuvers up to 50 feet in the air. Troy’s BBQ, Guaca Go, Kona Ice, Little Moir’s and Boardwalk Italian Ice & Creamery will be serving up delicious food and beverages available for purchase. The event will culminate at 9 p.m. with a dazzling, 20-minute fireworks display, synchronized to patriotic music, overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. As parking is limited, complimentary shuttles will operate from three convenient locations (parking is free and plentiful) beginning at 5:30 p.m.: the public lots on the corner of Seacrest Boulevard and Boynton Beach Boulevard, Journey Church and NYU Langone. The ride-hailing app dropoff and pickup location is Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park.
