Find “Tiny Doors” Hidden in Downtown West Palm Beach

When: May 24 – July 7

The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is launching a one-of-a-kind scavenger hunt in Downtown West Palm Beach that will put participants’ best investigating skills to the test.

Between May 24 and July 7, the DDA will hide “Tiny Doors” at locations throughout Downtown West Palm Beach.  Each week, prizes will be awarded to three explorers who are able to track down these hidden treasures.

The contest is open to the public and offers the community a great opportunity to explore all of what downtown has to offer.

Selected winners will be awarded prizes valued at $100 every week, so there will be plenty of chances to visit “The Center of Paradise” in Downtown West Palm Beach.

Pride on The Block, West Palm Beach

When: June 1, 1 pm – 11 pm

Kick off Pride Month on the 500 block of Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach. With amazing food, music, and entertainment, Pride on the Block is the place to be this summer. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable celebration of love and inclusion!

Pride on the Block is an annual block party and fundraiser that draws crowds from all over South Florida to celebrate Pride Month and support our local LGBTQ+ nonprofit, TRANSPIRE HELP.

Coco Market, Delray Beach

When: June 2, 9 am – 2 pm

Coco Market is a monthly wellness market that builds community and fosters new connections. It is held on the first Sunday of every month at Old School Square in Delray Beach. Its mission is to bring local businesses together to support one another and the larger wellness community. During the events, which are free and open to the public, kids and adults of all ages can enjoy a variety of fun and interactive activities including: healing classes like yoga, meditation, and sound baths with musicians, healing modalities, such as spinal adjustments, cupping therapy, massages, and energy work, workshops, crafts, and local vendors, pop-up food vendors, and more.

Flagler Museum Free Admission on Founder’s Day, Palm Beach

When: June 5, 10 am – 5 pm

The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum celebrates its anniversary each year on June 5 by opening to the public free of charge in honor of the Museum’s founder, Jean Flagler Matthews, who was Flagler’s granddaughter. Self-guided tour brochures will be available for visitors to guide themselves through Whitehall’s first and second floors as well as Railcar No. 91 in the Flagler-Kenan Pavilion.

World Oceans Day Art Exhibit and Concert, Riviera Beach

When: June 7, 5 pm – 10 pm

The Taras Oceanographic Foundation and the City of Riviera Beach celebrate World Oceans Day with an art exhibit and live music performance.

The solo music performer this year is Michael Fix, who will be flying in from his home Brisbane, Australia, to deliver one of the most exciting guitar performances you can imagine. The art exhibit will feature works from Michael Alexander, Suzanne Barton, Jerilyn Brown, Kris Davis, Gwen Eyeington, Ron Garrett, Rochelle Irons, Lupe Lawrence, Cynthia Oakes, Rose Shaw, and Steph Stinch.

The art exhibit opens at 5 pm and then stays open until the end of August. The concert starts at 7 pm and we expect it to conclude by 10 pm. There will be a cash bar so you can enjoy a drink while marveling at the artwork and enjoying the music performance. No doubt it will be an incredible evening.

Delray Beach Pride Fest & Concert, Delray Beach

When: June 8, 4 pm

Join the City of Delray Beach for the fourth annual Pride Festival and Concert. The FREE event will start in Pineapple Grove on NE 2nd Avenue at 4 pm with live entertainment and vendors and end with a concert (TBD). Music will play at the Amphitheatre at Old School Square that evening. Music starts at 7:30 pm.

In 2021, the City of Delray Beach created the Pridescape painting of the inclusive flag at the Intersection of NE 2nd Avenue and NE 1st Street, in the historic district of Pineapple Grove where it remains today.

2024 Pride 5K Run/Walk, West Palm Beach

When: June 8, 6:30 pm

The Pride 5K Run/Walk Presented by Night Runners WPB will be an LGBTQ+ celebration that encompasses family fun and community unity through running and walking. The race will take place on Saturday, June 08, 2024 at 6:30 PM in West Palm Beach, Florida. All registered participants will receive a limited-edition shirt and unique event finisher medal! THE COLOR PURPLE: The Musical

When: June 9, 7 pm

ArtsGarage in Delray Beach presents THE COLOR PURPLE: The Musical, featuring students from Palm Beach County.

This community production of the 2015 Broadway Revival will feature music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray, and book by Marsha Norman, it is based on the 1982 novel The Color Purple by Alice Walker and its 1985 film adaptation by Stephen Spielberg and starring Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey. The Broadway Revival of THE COLOR PURPLE: The Musical was headlined by Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo, and a movie version was released last year featuring Tariji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, and Fantasia Barrino. The student version slated for Arts Garage is being directed by Julius Wynn Jr.

Adult Sketch Class at the Norton Museum, West Palm Beach

When: June 10, 12:30 pm – 2 pm

Join artist and educator Shannon Walker in the galleries of the Norton to practice your composition skills and build community with other local artists. This class will focus on the exhibition The Paper Trail: 500 Years of Prints from the Jonathan “Jack” Frost Collection.

Juneteenth Community Day, West Palm Beach

When: June 15, 11 am – 4 pm

Bring family and friends to the Juneteenth Community Day at the Norton Museum and commemorate the day the announcement of the abolition of slavery was made in Texas in 1865.

This intergenerational event celebrates freedom and spotlights the African American experience with live musical performances, dance, gallery talks on art by African American artists, storytelling, and art-making activities. The programming for this event was organized by the Norton Museum of Art in conjunction with the Juneteenth Advisory Group including Julian Crewe, Samantha Cyprian, Adrienne Chadwick, Maria DeJesus, Kianga Jinaki, and Cleeve Maloon.

Youth Summer Music & Culture Camp, Delray Beach

When: June 24, 9 am

During this fun day at the Morikami Museum, Campers (Grade 3rd – 12th) will be immersed in Japanese culture participating in fun craft activities, Japanese cultural arts, and exciting music classes which include the 13-string koto (zither) and taiko drums, taught by professional musicians, Shirley Kazuyo Muramoto, Koto instructor and members from the Fushu Daiko Taiko group. All materials and Instruments that campers need are provided for their use at camp.

First Annual Love Street Cocktail Competition at Lucky Shuck Oyster Bar & Taphouse, Jupiter

When: June 24, 5:30 pm

Eight skilled bartenders from across Palm Beach County will compete one-on-one in a three-round contest to determine the top bartender. Cocktails crafted during the competition will be ranked by a panel of  judges, including radio host Carmine Gialanella from WILD 95.5

Exploring the underwater world at the Sandoway Discovery Center, Delray Beach

When: June 29, 10 am

Dive into a multisensory underwater adventure with Sandoway Center’s second June Discovery Series activity!

Children will explore the fascinating world beneath the waves through a series of interactive sensory bins filled with various materials representing ocean habitats. Each bin will contain different textures, colors, and objects, allowing children to engage their senses of touch, sight, and imagination. After diving deep into the sensory bins, children will unleash their creativity by making their own sea creature! Using a variety of craft materials such as clay, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and colored paper, kids will have the opportunity to design and create their own unique sea creatures.
