Winter Equestrian Festival, Wellington

Not only is the Winter Equestrian Festival one of the largest annual sporting events in The Palm Beaches, but it’s also the longest-running equestrian event in the world. It attracts national and international athletes competing for prizes, readying for the Olympics, or beginning careers in equestrian.

Dramaworkshop’s New Year Festival, West Palm Beach

The Dramaworkshop’s New Year/New Plays Festival makes a much-anticipated return to the theatre for the first time since 2020. One of PBD’s most popular initiatives, the festival features readings of five evolving works, providing playwrights with the invaluable opportunity to hear their words performed in front of a live audience, an instrumental step in the development and growth of a play. Exhibition by Artist Serge Strosberg: Veni, Vidi, Vici

Explore the life and influence of Henry Morrison Flagler through the free exibition Veni, Vidi, Vici by artist Serge Strosberg. The exhibition is an artistic exploration of the life and influence of Henry Morrison Flagler, the founder of Standard Oil and the Florida East Coast Railroad, as well as the cities of Miami and Palm Beach.
Strosberg takes Flagler as captured in portraits and vintage photographs provided by the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum and the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, and reimagines him in a modern context, costumed in contemporary vibrant patterns and colors by Lilly Pulitzer or Maus and Hoffman, while a frieze composed of train tracks borders the works.

The 13th Annual Supercar Week is a 9-day event for auto-enthusiasts with a beautiful Grand Finale on the West Palm Beach Waterfront, Sunday, January 15 from 11 am to 5 pm. Full Moon Silent Disco & Cacao Ceremony, Riviera Beach

Join a heart-opening evening of cacao ceremony, meditation, intention, and dancing underneath the light of the Full Moon. The evening will start with a Cacao Ceremony and a meditation. Cacao is a beautiful heart-opening medicine that has been used for thousands of years in Mayan and other Meso-American cultures. The evening will continue with a lightly guided ecstatic dance. The Japanese Inspiration for Madama Butterfly – Talk with Palm Beach Opera’s Catherine Hughes, Delray Beach
When: January 11, 1 pm.
In order to create the opera Madama Butterfly, composer Giacomo Puccini and his librettists, Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, studied Japanese culture through travelogues, printed music, sound recordings, and private study of the koto. Catherine Hughes, Director of Education & Community Engagement at Palm Beach Opera, explores these source materials and the ways the opera’s creators incorporated their cultural explorations into their work. The event includes a demonstration of koto technique by Yoshiko Carlton and a performance of excerpts from Madama Butterfly by Palm Beach Opera’s resident artist. Kravis Center’s 17th Annual African-American Film Festival, West Pal, Beach

Three award-winning films and a dynamic panel of local community leaders highlight this year’s ArtSmart Continuing Arts Education Series’ 17th Annual African-American Film Festival (AAFF) at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. January 12, February 9 and March 16.
Founded by the late James Drayton, a former West Palm Beach city commissioner and strong advocate for equal rights and equality, the African-American Film Festival focuses on the celebration of African American culture, race relations and social justice and celebrates African American artists with ground-breaking films. Each evening includes a moderated introduction to the film, followed by post-screening panel discussion and audience Q&A.
The festival kicks off on January 12, with the movie A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Directed by Daniel Petrie.

The Way of Taiko – The Heartbeat of Japan (Workshop), Delray Beach
