Palm Beach Polo Season, Wellington

When: from January 1.
Each January through April, the world’s premier polo players and polo enthusiasts head to The Palm Beaches for top-level competition during Palm Beach International Polo Season. Located in Wellington, the National Polo Center presents weekly and often daily events. Details here.

Coco Market Delray, Delray Beach

When: January 1, 9 am – 2 pm.
Coco Connections is a free health and wellness centered market that aims to build community and foster new connections! There will be 40-50 local vendors, health and wellness professionals providing various services, live music, and a yoga class at the beginning of the market.

Winter Equestrian Festival, Wellington

When: from January 4.
Not only is the Winter Equestrian Festival one of the largest annual sporting events in The Palm Beaches, but it’s also the longest-running equestrian event in the world. It attracts national and international athletes competing for prizes, readying for the Olympics, or beginning careers in equestrian. 
Wellington International is open to spectators from Wednesday to Sunday between January 4 and April 2, 2023. Learn more.

Mori Stories: The Rabbit on the Moon, Delray Beach

When: January 5, 1 pm.

Sandoway Discovery Series: Sharks!, Delray Beach

When: January 5 and 26, 2:30 pm or 3:15 pm.
Learn all about sharks through crafts, artifacts, and experiential learning. The program will take place outdoors and will be limited to 10 kids per class. To reserve your spot, call us at 561-274-7263. Payment will be accepted upon arrival.

Dramaworkshop’s New Year Festival, West Palm Beach

When: January 5-8.
The Dramaworkshop’s New Year/New Plays Festival makes a much-anticipated return to the theatre for the first time since 2020. One of PBD’s most popular initiatives, the festival features readings of five evolving works, providing playwrights with the invaluable opportunity to hear their words performed in front of a live audience, an instrumental step in the development and growth of a play. Audiences not only share in the excitement of bringing new work to life, but have the chance to offer feedback to the playwrights.

Boynton Beach Free Monthly Concert Series, Boynton Beach

When: January 6, 5 pm – 8 pm.
The City of Boynton Beach organizes a free family-friendly monthly concert series on the first Friday of each month at 5 pm. The concerts will take place at the Centennial Park Amphitheater in downtown Boynton Beach. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the concerts on the Amphitheater’s lawn.

Exhibition by Artist Serge Strosberg: Veni, Vidi, Vici

When: Jan. 6 – Feb. 18, 2023, Tursday to Saturday.
Time: 12 pm – 5 pm.
Explore the life and influence of Henry Morrison Flagler through the free exibition Veni, Vidi, Vici by artist Serge Strosberg. The exhibition is an artistic exploration of the life and influence of Henry Morrison Flagler, the founder of Standard Oil and the Florida East Coast Railroad, as well as the cities of Miami and Palm Beach.
Strosberg takes Flagler as captured in portraits and vintage photographs provided by the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum and the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, and reimagines him in a modern context, costumed in contemporary vibrant patterns and colors by Lilly Pulitzer or Maus and Hoffman, while a frieze composed of train tracks borders the works.

Fiesta De Pueblo, West Palm Beach

When: January 7, 12 pm – 10 pm.
Fiesta De Pueblo is a celebration of the Three Wise Men that provides a unique, cross-cultural family-friendly experience. The event highlights Hispanic culture through music, food, art, and commerce, enabling our Hispanic community to showcase its resources, products and services at our Business Expo.

Supercar Week, West Palm Beach

When: January 7-15.
The 13th Annual Supercar Week is a 9-day event for auto-enthusiasts with a beautiful Grand Finale on the West Palm Beach Waterfront, Sunday, January 15 from 11 am to 5 pm. The event will feature over a thousand cars of all kinds, including supercars, exotics, luxury, race cars, historical, classics, vintage, Artcars, Jeeps and electric vehicles. Music and entertainment on two stages and special featured area tributes: Bill Mazzoni Motorsports Village and Larry Goldman Marine Village. Get tickets.

Tea Ceremony (Workshop), Delray Beach

When: January 7, 1 pm – 3 pm.
The workshop teaches the basics of sadō – The Way of Tea – necessary to understand the aesthetics of sadō and to fully enjoy the tea ceremony itself. Participants become familiar with how to be a guest, how to make a bowl of tea, and serve it.

Full Moon Silent Disco & Cacao Ceremony, Riviera Beach

When: January 7, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.
Join a heart-opening evening of cacao ceremony, meditation, intention, and dancing underneath the light of the Full Moon. The evening will start with a Cacao Ceremony and a meditation. Cacao is a beautiful heart-opening medicine that has been used for thousands of years in Mayan and other Meso-American cultures. The evening will continue with a lightly guided ecstatic dance. After the dancing portion, musician Kev Ohm will play some live music and a vocal sound bath which will then morph into community music making. Bring water and a blanket to seat on. Full Moon Silent Disco & Cacao Ceremony

History & Architecture Walking Tours, West Palm Beach

When: January 7
Join architect and local historian Rick Gonzalez on this lively tour of the West Palm Beach’s downtown. This 90-minute guided tour begins on the Great Lawn by the WPB Tiki. Family Fun: Orchid Galore, Delray Beach

The Japanese Inspiration for Madama Butterfly – Talk with Palm Beach Opera’s Catherine Hughes, Delray Beach

When: January 11, 1 pm.
In order to create the opera Madama Butterfly, composer Giacomo Puccini and his librettists, Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, studied Japanese culture through travelogues, printed music, sound recordings, and private study of the koto. Catherine Hughes, Director of Education & Community Engagement at Palm Beach Opera, explores these source materials and the ways the opera’s creators incorporated their cultural explorations into their work. The event includes a demonstration of koto technique by Yoshiko Carlton and a performance of excerpts from Madama Butterfly by Palm Beach Opera’s resident artist. The event is free with paid museum admission.

Kravis Center’s 17th Annual African-American Film Festival, West Pal, Beach
When: January 12, 2023, 6:30 pm
Three award-winning films and a dynamic panel of local community leaders highlight this year’s ArtSmart Continuing Arts Education Series’ 17th Annual African-American Film Festival (AAFF) at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.  January 12, February 9 and March 16.
Founded by the late James Drayton, a former West Palm Beach city commissioner and strong advocate for equal rights and equality, the African-American Film Festival focuses on the celebration of African American culture, race relations and social justice and celebrates African American artists with ground-breaking films.  Each evening includes a moderated introduction to the film, followed by post-screening panel discussion and audience Q&A.
The festival kicks off on January 12, with the movie A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Directed by Daniel Petrie.

Sunday on the Waterfront is the coolest scene in downtown West Palm Beach. This FREE family-friendly concert series is held year-round on the third Sunday of each month and features a variety of national and regional recording artists. On Sunday, January 15, the event will feature The Caribbean Chillers, Florida’s favorite Jimmy Buffett Tribute Act!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration at the South Florida Fair, West Palm Beach

When: January 16, 2023.
Join the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Coordinating Committee’s (MLKCC) at the K&M Electric Community stage for a celebration that honors the life and legacy of the civil rights icon. Hosted by the Martin Luther King Jr. Coordinating Committee at the South Florida Fair.

Honor The Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., West Palm Beach

The Way of Taiko – The Heartbeat of Japan (Workshop)Delray Beach

When: January 29, 11 am – 1 pm or 2 pm – 4 pm.
This workshop introduces participants to the history and practice of taiko drumming. Participants are taught how to understand sounds and movements, i.e., how to connect nature and the meaning of body movement. They will become familiar with the way of taiko and its drumming techniques. Top performers from South Florida’s Fushu Daiko will conduct the workshop.

Shark and Stingray Feeding, Delray Beach

Green And Artisan Market, Boca Raton
